Differences between memory toppers
The memory foam topper relieves pressure points for a more restful sleep.
The memory foam topper relieves pressure points for a more restful sleep. It has many beneficial effects and conveniences while saving you from buying a new mattress. Reacting to the heat and mass of the body, it surrounds it along the bends to keep it in a completely straight position. According to the different body types, sleeping habits, and comfort aspects, there are an extremely wide variety of toppings.
Density
The density of memory foam can be from 40 to up to 100 kg/m3. It is worth choosing foam with a density of at least 50-60 kg/m3. (Foams weighing 80-100 kg/m3 are used by Tempur.)
Solidity
Surface training - charge - flexibility (ILD) reflects strength, elasticity.
Calculation of ILD: mass of the topping/pressure percentage of foam. ILD ranges from 8 to 20, most people prefer 12-15. The ILD indicator below 10 provides soft support, and the above 16 provides hard support. The temperature of the room affects the indicator.
Thickness
The thickness of memory foam toppings can be diverse from 2cm to 10cm. The most popular thickness is 4-6-8 cm. A thickness of 2 cm corresponds almost exclusively to a marketing catch, it does not lead to any real improvement. When choosing the thickness of the topping, it is necessary to take into account what kind of cushioning we need.
With a heavier person, a thin topper may not improve the surface enough, but a thick topper may not support a low-weight person well.
Sleep patterns are also an important aspect when choosing thickness. Those sleeping on the side prefer thicker toppings than abdomen and back sleepers. It is also worth considering that when using the topping, it may be necessary to use sheets of different (larger) sizes.
Compilation
Not all toppers are purely made of memory foam, some manufacturers also use extra charge. Usually, under the influence of such added substances, the topping can be ruined sooner, and they are also heated during sleep. They can reduce the reaction time to body temperature, especially if the cover is quilted with a synthetic fiber layer. Combining with latex can increase support. Some toppings are characterized by jelly beads, which give a cooler feel.
